Costs
We ask that you pledge to raise £1800 for your chosen charity and let them know that you are planning to use a proportion of the money you raise to pay for the trip. This is fairly standard practice and shouldn't be a problem but do check with your charity first. If you would rather give all the money you raise to your charity and pay for the trip yourself, you are of course welcome to do that
The cost to us of running the trip is £900 for the trip. This will primarily go towards providing you with accommodation (primarily Bed & Breakfast) en route as well as transporting your luggage, providing backup, and technical support. If you would like to take part but feel that this is too expensive, I am prepared to organising camping accommodation for you, which will considerably reduce the cost. Alternatively, you could do a small part of the ride which will reduce the cost.
Any extra profits made after covering our costs will be given to local hospices.
Additional services are available:
- Bike collection from your house and transportation to Land’s end: £50
- Bike collection from John O’Groats and transportation to your house: £50
- Satnav rental: £50 (plus £100 refundable deposit) – (we will provide you with satnav that you can fix to your bike and will guide you without having to look at maps or route plans)
- Insurance
While breakfast will be available at your B&B you will need to pay for your own lunch and evening meals. We will suggest places to stop for lunch and will book a restaurant for an evening meal for you to have the opportunity to get together with your fellow travellers.
